Anne et Etienne vivent paisiblement leur retraite dans leur maison de La Gacilly. Tous deux viennent de vivre des mois de grandes inquiétudes pour leur vie. Anne se remet peu à peu d’un accident vasculaire cérébral conjugué à une récidive de cancer. Etienne retrouve de l’énergie après de longues semaines d’intubation en raison du Covid.

Bien soutenus par l’amour de leurs enfants et petits-enfants, ils osent croire en des lendemains possibles. Malgré des santés amoindries, est-il encore possible de se mettre en projet ? La tentation est grande de rester dans le cocon rassurant de la maison du bord de l’eau.

Malgré les doutes et les fragilités bien réelles, malgré les risques, Anne et Etienne cherchent à se remettre en route à la découverte de nouveaux horizons. Depuis longtemps, par amour de l’Italie, ils ont sillonné la botte italienne du nord au sud. Mais pas encore les chemins de la Sicile… Alors, pourquoi ne pas aller découvrir cette île si enviée par tant de peuples depuis des siècles ?

Ainsi chaque jour est une chance et la vie continue, pleine d’espérance…
