Since its beginnings in the 1960s, the TOB (Ecumenical Translation of the Bible) has become a visible trace on the path to unity between the Churches.
The Ecumenical Association for Biblical Research (AORB), which monitors its dissemination and updates, presents here the fruit of two revision projects, carried out since 2016 , The book of the prophet Hosea and The Letter to the Galatians .
Two teams made up of Catholics, Protestants and an Orthodox, European and African, tried to reconcile scientific rigor and a language understandable by all.
The choice of the Book of the prophet Hosea and the Letter to the Galatians was also guided by the current dialogue between Jews and Christians. Rabbis therefore agreed to react to the work of Christian biblical scholars. Their comments helped enrich the writing.
It's now up to you to appreciate the result which announces an ambitious revision of the TOB!
