The stunning gospel

Bob Ekblad

Jesus was born into a world marked by oppression and injustice to announce and embody God's global liberation movement. Like an insurgent, a resistance fighter, Jesus goes behind enemy lines clandestinely, then establishes trust with a growing entourage of humble people ready to follow him. He resists the authorities of his time, with their legal systems, and calls others to join him.

This book provides insight into this gospel of resistance – the liberating and life-changing message found in Scripture, most clearly stated in the life and teaching of Jesus of Nazareth. It includes perspectives and suggestions on how to receive and prepare for Bible studies that bring about holistic transformation. The central point of this book is to offer practical ways to lead conversations around the Bible in marginalized situations, with people who are not used to being called by God.

The Stunning Gospel: For a Liberating Reading of the Bible is a “training” manual that seeks to help its readers to dare to lead Bible studies with unusual audiences, in a dynamic that comes from the Holy Spirit.
