Traduction du volume Symposium publié en 2012 aux éditions Duhi-litera, ce journal oral de Valentin Sylvestrov fut réalisé à l’occasion de ses 75 ans.

Les voeux envoyés par des personnes de renommée mondiale comme Arvo Pärt, Gidon Kremer ou la poétesse Olga Sedakova à cette occasion ont été le point de départ de ce livre.

L’ouvrage contient également certaines des 13 conférences publiques réalisées par Sylvestrov à Kiev en 2007 où une sélection de ses oeuvres écrites sur les 40 dernières années ont été présentées. Il a aussi répondu à de nombreuses questions des modérateurs et du public.

Combinant souvenirs, jugements et réflexions sur la musique et ses propres oeuvres, ce livre dresse un portrait vivant et multidimensionnel de Valentyn Sylvestrov.

L’originalité de cette édition est l’intégration de QR codes qui permettent d’avoir directement accès à l’écoute de la musique de Sylvestrov comme ses fameuses Bagatelles ou plus récemment Ô Lumière éternelle (2020), musique dédiée à Dante.
