Archange de l’Annonciation, Gabriel est l’initiateur du « Je vous salue Marie ».

Avant d’apparaître à la Vierge, il s’est déjà fait le messager de Dieu pour le prophète Daniel ou Zacharie, le père de Jean le Baptiste. Au Moyen-Âge et à l’époque moderne, il ne cessa de visiter les croyants, pour annoncer et transmettre le message de l’Évangile.

Sainte Mechtilde, sainte Jeanne d’Arc, bienheureuse Anne Catherine Emmerich, mais aussi une simple paysanne, Marie des Vallées, un curé, le père Lamy et bien d’autres encore, ont entendu sa voix, eu des visions expliquées ou ont même été sauvés d’accidents par l’archange. Toujours impressionnant, inspirant le respect et resplendissant d’or ou d’airain, Gabriel mérite pleinement son surnom de Force de Dieu.

Papili raconte est une collection permettant de découvrir la vie de saints moins connus. Leur histoire est contée par Papili, ancien professeur d’histoire et grand-père heureux de partager ses connaissances avec ses petits-enfants.
